I have  been happily designing and making fine handmade jewellery for more than 25 years, starting my journey  in Vancouver, Canada.   I eventually made my way to Paris where I studied the jeweller's art at the L'Ecole Boulle.  where  I created 'VonGiesbrecht Jewels' in 1994, and had my own boutique  for 18 years.  During that time I also worked occasionally for the Fashion Museum (Musee Galliera) doing their jewellery restoration work.  In addition, I designed and hand-made some 200 pieces of costume jewellery for the Parisian  entertainment troop at 'Le Lido, Champs Elysees'.     I specialize in handmade, one-of-a-kind fine jewelry in silver, gold and platinum with or without semi-precious stones including wedding and engagement rings.   I  now  create my fine  handmade jewellery for my international clients wherever they may be.  Recently, I have expanded my activities to include design consultation services of jewellery and fashion accessories for a company in Switzerland.

I have a passion for history and gems, jewellery and fashion; amazing ancients and splendid contemporaries.   I hope to share a bit of my passion and experience here, writing about whatever has caught my attention in the jewellery world,  whether it concerns my work or that of others.  Welcome to all of you who wish to come along for the ride.
