I handmade this yellow 18kt gold ring with pave set white and black diamonds, centered around a small oval carnelian cabochon.

 

I created this ring especially for a long time friend, Mary Deverel, carving the centre stone from an old, broken ring she had bought in India. She and her husband had lived in India for many years and the place had a special attachment for them. Not long after leaving, her husband died and I set it as my objective to create for Mary a ring that would be for her a sort of 'Taj Mahal'.
